The guided tour of the exhibition will bring the tradition of Flanders' vineyards to life thanks to the ‘Fleur de Lin’ wine.
This museum recounts the adventure of a few friends who, one day, had the somewhat strange idea of planting a few vines and making wine in the land of beer!
The first vintage tasted more like vinegar, but that did not discourage them, and other companions joined this group of friends. Each contributed their skills and expertise through their connections, notably a winegrower from Vouvray, an honorary citizen of the town of Hondschoote since 2009, who advised them on planting, pruning and winemaking. A name had to be found for this cheerful and friendly team.
And so the association ‘Les Tastewijn’, also known as ‘Les Compagnons du Vin de Flandre’ (The Wine Companions of Flanders), was born.
Thanks to generous donors, they have succeeded in creating the ‘Jean-Pierre PINCEEL’ Harvest Museum in the cellars of Hondschoote Town Hall.
The tour includes a tasting.
